Summer Employment Opportunities at ETS

Reading Assessments The Assessment Development Division of Educational Testing Service is seeking freelance writers, graduate students, teachers, and other college graduates who have an appreciation for good writing and a sense of the interests and abilities of high-school students. Successful candidates will work with ETS test development staff in developing lively and appealing materials for assessing reading comprehension skills aligned with the Common Core State Standards. The eight-week program will begin June 16th and end August 8th. Summer employees will work 8-hour days, Monday-Friday, at the ETS campus in Princeton, NJ. Candidates should submit a short (no more than one-page) sample text that they believe would be suitable for testing critical reading skills. The First Day is a new journal inspired by Quaker faith, seeking to foster dialogue about the individual spiritual experience. We blend nonfiction stories of journey and discovery with fiction, poetry, visual arts, and reviews. We publish online daily on our blog, and issue a quarterly print journal of longer pieces.
