Publishing Internship at Quaker Journal
The First Day is a new journal inspired by Quaker faith, seeking to foster dialogue about the individual spiritual experience. We blend nonfiction stories of journey and discovery with fiction, poetry, visual arts, and reviews. We publish online daily on our blog, and issue a quarterly print journal of longer pieces.
We’re looking for a creative, enthusiastic intern who connects with our mission and is willing to do the following: read and give feedback on submissions, write occasionally on our blog, post to social media, and help with marketing and promoting our magazine.
Those students interested in entering the field of writing and publishing are preferred, though we’ll consider other applicants. Please make yourself familiar with our publication by visiting our website, www.firstdaypress.org.
To apply, please email the editor Jana Llewellyn at jana@firstdaypress.orgwith an attached resume/CV (doc, docx, Google Doc, or PDF) and description of why you’d be a good fit for the internship. Show off your writing abilities and share your professional/academic experience. Include two names and phone numbers/email addresses for references.
Thank you so much for your interest!
